See You Later Leighton…

Leighton has been the savior for the Flyers this year and has been a huge part of their turn around. It looks like they will need to find a new savior to help carry them into the playoffs becasue Leighton is out 8-10 weeks with a severe high ankle sprain.
They are already thin at goalie since it was announced a few weeks ago that Ray Emery would miss the rest of the season. Luckily though they still had Leighton. Read the rest of this entry »
Flyers Game Tonight
I will be attending the Flyers game tonight in Philadelphia against the Atlanta Thrashers. The Thrashers have a very similar record to the Flyers. While they have three less wins, they have one less loss and five more overtime losses. When looking at the points, the Flyers have 55 and the Thrashers have 54. Emery Stone Cold Last Night
The Flyers chose not to resign either of their goalies that were on their roster last season. This decision was very questionable and drew a lot of criticism. When a team lets go of both of their goalies, it because a necessity to fill that gap with a player that is a proven starter and that the team and fans have full confidence in. The Flyers did that somewhat when they went out and got goaltender Ray Emery.
Ray Emery has a Stanley Cup victory. However he failed to be picked up by any team due to his attitude and antics. He played in Russia and last night was his first regular season game back in the NHL. Being removed from the NHL left a lot of questions that needed to be answered about Emery.
