Tough Loss But Some Promising Signs

For the first few innings of today’s game, it was hard to believe we were watching the same Phillies team that did so well in game 1. They found themselves in a hole. The Rockies were scoring runs and the Phillies bats were silent. Hamels’ performance was shaky (but it’s hard to be upset with him since his baby was being born soon) and it wasn’t looking good.
They got the loss but a few good signs came out of it. They showed resilience and their ability to fight back even when they are losing late in games. They could have been like the Rockies yesterday- fallen behind 5-0 and not doing anything about it. But they stuck in it. Although the bulpen was shaky at times, they had their moments too. One clutch situation was when Scott Eyre came in with the bases loaded and nobody out.
