ESPN Has No Love for the Eagles
Well, judging by their latest power rankings they don’t. They released their latest power rankings, the training camp edition, and they don’t even have the Eagles in the top 15.
To be exact, they placed them at 17 overall. That’s a ten spot drop from the end of last season when ESPN had the Eagles ranked #7 before the offseason started. It’s an even further drop from last years preseason rankings which had them at #4. That means the Eagles got a lot worse in the eyes of the experts. Here’s a breakdown of the rankings.
The top five are the following: Colts, Saints, Vikings, Cowboys & Ravens. Just out of the top five is the Packers, who the Eagles play on opening weekend. Read the rest of this entry »
Eagles See McNabb Weeks 4 and 10
The NFL announced the official schedules tonight at 7:00pm and now we have a clearer picture of what to expect for the rest of the season. They open the season against the Packers and have 5 prime time games. Take a look at their schedule here and then we will break down a few games. Read the rest of this entry »
Eagles Having A Busy Week

They started off the free agent period very slowly and didn’t make and splashes in the first few days. They watched stars like Tomlinson, Thomas Jones, Anquan Boldin and Julius Peppers switch teams but were waiting to make their moves. Well that time has come because, even though it’s only Wednesday, the Eagles have had a very busy week.
It started Tuesday by signing Saints RB Mike Bell to an offer sheet. Read the rest of this entry »
The Deceiving 6 Game Winning Streak

Going into the season there was a lot of excitement but nobody truly knew what to expect from the Eagles. In the offseason they bolstered their offensive line, they had a great draft which brought in 2 explosive offensive rookies, made a splash by signing Vick and brought in Weaver. But still, nobody from fans to NFL analysts, knew where to rank this team among the other teams in the league.
As the season started picking up, the Birds kept us scratching our heads for the first 10 weeks of the season. While they looked unstoppable one week, they would look terrible the next. There was no consistency. For example, in week 5 they crushed Tampa Bay 33-14. They were riding high into Oakland for a game with the Raiders a week later and lost. By week 10, they were coming off of a loss to the Chargers and were sitting in the middle of the pack at 5-4. You never knew which team would show up each week.
Will Anything Change Saturday?

Tim Heitman/US Presswire
To sum up last night’s Eagles’ game in one word, I would have to use ‘pathetic’. In all aspects of the game they looked bad. Going into the game, my confidence in this team was as high as it could be. They were winners of 6 straight and the buzz around the league was that they could be the favorites to take the NFC with their high scoring, explosive offense.
After seeing them get shutout 24-0 to the Cowboys in the biggest game of their season so far, my confidence in them is at rock bottom. They had so much more to play for this Sunday than the Cowboys did. Read the rest of this entry »
Give McNabb an Extension
Donovan McNabb is having another great year. He has eclipsed the 3,000 yard mark and is one touchdown pass shy of 20. As of now he also has less than ten interceptions with nine, keeping his career TD to INT ratio to around 2-1. He is having a PRO BOWL type year. It is also important to remember that McNabb missed two games so his numbers would be even higher, and would have had a good chance to go over 4000 passing yards.
The Eagles have ten wins this year and are in position to win 12 which would be one of the better seasons under Reid. They have secured a playoff spot already and are fighting for a number two seed, but it really depends on what the Vikings do. Read the rest of this entry »
Eagles Preview: Week 15

This Sunday the Eagles take on the 49ers in Philadelphia. The Eagles are clearly the better team and have been for years, but they definitely shouldn’t take this team lightly. The Niners are currently 6-7 and fighting for a playoff spot in the NFC. Teams like that don’t always go down easily.
That being said, the Eagles should really have no problem putting them away. We can look at stats and strength of schedule all day long but I don’t think any football fan outside of the city of San Francisco would pick the 49ers to win this game.
The Eagles’ early season woes against bad team are long gone by now. They are pulling away as the number 3 team in the NFC and have been playing their best football of the season the past 3 weeks. They won’t let themselves lose this game especially at home this late in December.
To make this post a bit more interesting though I’ll still analyze some game facts: Read the rest of this entry »
The Eagles Are Hitting Their Stride

Now that they got out of that unimpressive early-mid season stretch, the Eagles are finally showing that they’re one of the top teams in the NFC and NFL. Them heating up in December isn’t new to Eagles’ fans though. They seem to do this every year.
After week 10 the Eagles were 5-4 and coming off back to back losses. Since their last loss to the Chargers however, they’re on a 4 game winning streak. Their 9-4 record is good enough for first place in the NFC East Read the rest of this entry »
Vick’s Return to Atlanta
It’s that time of the week again…the only thing separating the Eagles fans and this weeks game is a Saturday night of watching the Sixers and Flyers. In a few hours, the Eagles will take the field in Atlanta against the 6-5 Atlanta Falcons.
While the talk all around Atlanta and the football world is Vick’s return, this game means a lot more than just that. It will be interesting to see the reactions he gets when he runs onto the field but in reality, he most likely won’t be a factor in the game. We’ll hear a mix of boos and cheers for the 4 plays he comes in for but other than that the focus will be on the battle between these 2 NFC teams with playoff hopes. Read the rest of this entry »
Eagles Get The Prime Time Win
Last time the Eagles had the entire country watching them it was kind of embarrassing. They lost to the Cowboys in a game they should have won. This time we were all hoping it went better and it did.
I’m sure you all watched the Eagles take care of the Bears last night 24-20. It was a solid win but an overall up and down performance by the offense. They started off the first quarter hot but looked like they rolled over to die after the second quarter. There were a few fumbles and an interception but they woke back up and took the lead.
One good sign from Sunday night was the emergence of a running game that included none other than MICHAEL VICK! LeSean McCoy stepped in for the injured Westbrook and had 99 rushing yards and a nice touchdown in the 4th quarter to put the Birds ahead. Also, MICHAEL VICK! Read the rest of this entry »
