Hottest Tickets in Philly this Fall
The Phillies are in the heat of another pennant race and they’ll hopefully be playing into October. However, besides them, the other 3 Philadelphia sports teams will be starting up and there are some exciting games that Philly sports fans might want to get tickets too.
The Flyers announced their schedule a few weeks ago and the NBA has yet to release a full schedule but the Sixers already know when they’ll be seeing the Heat. The Eagles have some good games at home as well. Here are the top three games in Philly this Fall (in no specific order). Save the dates.
1. Sixers vs Heat - October 27th
We don’t have to wait long to see the Miami Heat. The Sixers open the season with them on October 17th. It will be the first game of the year played in the newly named “Wells Fargo Center”. Read the rest of this entry »

Are the Eagles Losing Their Touch?

For years, the Eagles’ management has been one of the best in the NFL. They’ve built this team from the ground up to be consistently good almost every year. They put together 5 teams that reached the NFC championship game and 1 NFC Champion and have done a lot of it through the draft.
Jeffrey Lurie bought the Eagles for $194 million in ‘94 and this management has turned the Eagles into a team valued at over $1billion. It’s part of the reason why Joe Banner and Andy Reid just got lucrative contract extensions. But have they lost their touch?
Westbrook and Weaver Back McNabb
Here we go again with another McNabb post right? Well, yes this is another McNabb post. It’s hard not to write about such a hot topic in Philadelphia sports though. There is so much going on and no one really knows what to believe. Did Kolb really receive a contract extension offer? Are the Eagles really entertaining trade proposals for McNabb? And if so, what would it take to send McNabb away? All of these questions are being “answered” by people who really are only guessing. Andy Reid said that McNabb will be here in 2010 right after the loss in the playoffs. Just recently he said it again and the new GM stated that Andy Read the rest of this entry »
Dawkins Says Run the Ball
Former Eagle Brian Dawkins, one of the most beloved players in all of Philadelphia sports history gave the Eagles a little advice last Sunday during the Pro Bowl. Thanks for speaking up Brian. Only if the coaching staff would listen.
“Run the ball. With that passing attack, the way that thing is shaping up to be, go ahead and bring Donovan [McNabb] back to where he’s supposed to be, and run Read the rest of this entry »
The Deceiving 6 Game Winning Streak

Going into the season there was a lot of excitement but nobody truly knew what to expect from the Eagles. In the offseason they bolstered their offensive line, they had a great draft which brought in 2 explosive offensive rookies, made a splash by signing Vick and brought in Weaver. But still, nobody from fans to NFL analysts, knew where to rank this team among the other teams in the league.
As the season started picking up, the Birds kept us scratching our heads for the first 10 weeks of the season. While they looked unstoppable one week, they would look terrible the next. There was no consistency. For example, in week 5 they crushed Tampa Bay 33-14. They were riding high into Oakland for a game with the Raiders a week later and lost. By week 10, they were coming off of a loss to the Chargers and were sitting in the middle of the pack at 5-4. You never knew which team would show up each week.
BDawks Return
Tomorrow the Denver Broncos will at the Linc. For some of them it will be their first time there, let alone in Philadelphia. However, for Brian Dawkins, it is his return to the place where he spent ever single year of his career until this lone season. He loved Philadelphia. He loved the team. The fans and the city loved him. He was arguably the mostloved Eagle of all time…yes of ALL TIME. I say that because people cried when he left. When the rumors started that he had inked the deal Denver, no fan wanted to believe it. Read the rest of this entry »
Give McNabb an Extension
Donovan McNabb is having another great year. He has eclipsed the 3,000 yard mark and is one touchdown pass shy of 20. As of now he also has less than ten interceptions with nine, keeping his career TD to INT ratio to around 2-1. He is having a PRO BOWL type year. It is also important to remember that McNabb missed two games so his numbers would be even higher, and would have had a good chance to go over 4000 passing yards.
The Eagles have ten wins this year and are in position to win 12 which would be one of the better seasons under Reid. They have secured a playoff spot already and are fighting for a number two seed, but it really depends on what the Vikings do. Read the rest of this entry »
Eagles Get The Prime Time Win
Last time the Eagles had the entire country watching them it was kind of embarrassing. They lost to the Cowboys in a game they should have won. This time we were all hoping it went better and it did.
I’m sure you all watched the Eagles take care of the Bears last night 24-20. It was a solid win but an overall up and down performance by the offense. They started off the first quarter hot but looked like they rolled over to die after the second quarter. There were a few fumbles and an interception but they woke back up and took the lead.
One good sign from Sunday night was the emergence of a running game that included none other than MICHAEL VICK! LeSean McCoy stepped in for the injured Westbrook and had 99 rushing yards and a nice touchdown in the 4th quarter to put the Birds ahead. Also, MICHAEL VICK! Read the rest of this entry »
Eagles Preview: Week 7
Finally! - a prime-time football game for the Eagles. Let’s hope that embarrassing team that played the Raiders last week doesn’t show up in front of a national audience.
Not only will Monday night’s game be the Eagles’ first prime-time game of the season, it will be their first divisional game as well. We all know that divisional games are usually competitive. The teams play each other so much that its not rare to see a split series. That might be true this year when the Eagles play the Giants- but when they play the Redskins, there is no excuse for not winning.
The Redskins are terrible (even worse than the Raiders in my opinion). They hired a coach off the streets to call the plays and take some responsibility away from Zorn. Read the rest of this entry »
