Bring LeBron to the Eagles

So obviously this is the most unrealistic scenario possible.  However, it is fun to think about.  LeBron is 6-8 and weighs 250 pounds.  He can probably run at least a 4.6 forty.  Talk about a real weapon.  I don’t believe that anyone would be able to guard him on defense.  Linebackers would be to slow, defensive backs would be to small.  The only way that anyone would be able to stop him would by triple teaming him, kind of like he is on the basketball court. Are the 76ers Waiting for 2010?

The New Jersey Nets have done it. The New York Knicks have done it. The Miami Heat have done it.  Do the Sixers have something up their sleaves? If you have no idea what I am talking about let me fill you in. All of those teams have been making moves to create salary cap room for the past few years. They have their eyes on the 2010 NBA free agency period which will be one of the most exciting off-seasons in all of sports history.  Everyone knows about Lebron James but take a look at some of the other huge names. If this does not get you excited for next year nothing will.

Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Tyson Chandler, Manu Ginobili, Richard Jefferson, Joe Johnson, Tracy McGrady, Yao Ming, Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki, Lebron James,  Michael Redd, Raja Bell, Brad Miller,  Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Shaq, Marcus Camby, Peja Stojakovic, Richard Jefferson.

That is just a small glimpse of the huge stars that could be switching teams next year if the situation and price is right. The Sixers are not on pace to lose any of their big stars to free agency (Willie Green is the biggest name) so maybe they have their eyes on that list.

It is definitely possible that they would go after one or more of these stars. They have only made a few very small tweaks to the team that did not make it out of the first round last year and that may not be enough. It seems like they will losing Andre Miller and have not yet made a move for another point guard to back up Lou Williams. If the team they have in place this year does not produce better results than last year, expect them to try to make a splash next summer. I think Chris Bosh or any of these players would look great in red white and blue.
