3 Toughest Games for the Eagles

It will be even harder to beat the Packers if Rodgers brings the 'stache back.

This game makes the list partially because it’s the first game of the season for a very young team and partially because the Packers are really really good. It will be Kolb’s first game as the leader of the franchise and he will be met by one of the league’s best defenses.

The one bright side to this game is the fact that they’re playing in Philly. The home field advantage helps a lot but in the big picture, it doesn’t make it any easier to take down one of the NFC’s best. Read the rest of this entry »

Cowboys Keep Losing Their Manhood

http://lonestarstruck.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/smith_emmit050203.jpgFootball season is over but there’s always time for Eagles fans to make fun of the Cowboys. I saw these 2 commercials recently so I just felt like posting them up here for all other Eagles fans to enjoy.

Jimmy Johnson- that guy who led the Cowboys to consecutive super bowl wins- is now a big advocate of Extenze. Extenze is a natural male enhancement product for when your manhood just isn’t working right. He is proud to announce to the world that he uses and loves the product. He’s their new spokesperson and I’m sure he’s making Cowboys fans proud. I heard Jimmy just signed a contract to be the spokesperson for Depend for men. Enjoy: Read the rest of this entry »

Will Anything Change Saturday?

Donovan McNabb

Tim Heitman/US Presswire

To sum up last night’s Eagles’ game in one word, I would have to use ‘pathetic’. In all aspects of the game they looked bad. Going into the game, my confidence in this team was as high as it could be. They were winners of 6 straight and the buzz around the league was that they could be the favorites to take the NFC with their high scoring, explosive offense.

After seeing them get shutout 24-0 to the Cowboys in the biggest game of their season so far, my confidence in them is at rock bottom. They had so much more to play for this Sunday than the Cowboys did. Read the rest of this entry »

Mosely Against the Eagles

Whenever I’m on ESPN.com I navigate my way to the NFL page, and then I check out the NFC East blog portion of the site.  Matt Mosely takes care of the writing.  This week, the only NFC East team that he has winning is the Dallas Cowboys.  It’s interesting because this week the, as you all know, the Cowboys are facing none other than our Philadelphia Eagles.  He mentions that it will be a good game (31-28 Cowboys), Read the rest of this entry »

Jackson’s Loss Is A Big Blow

jamaa.jpg image by loxahatchee The Eagles have overcome their share of injuries this season. Westbrook has missed 8 games but that didn’t hurt the Eagles too bad being a pass happy team with Weaver and McCoy to fill in. McNabb went down for 2 weeks but it was early in the season and the Eagles played the Chiefs. They lost a ton of linebackers but were able to fill in the holes through trades, free agency and other players stepping up. Other players have gotten hurt but it was early enough to be back and ready for the end of the season and playoffs.

This injury is different. Jamaal Jackson has been the core of that offensive line for years and had started 71 straight games before this injury. Read the rest of this entry »

It All Comes Down to Week 17

http://cdn.picapp.com/ftp/Images/9/4/5/6/Eagles_vs_Cowboys_0ccd.JPG?adImageId=7399012&imageId=7005944Does this situation feel familiar? That’s because last season the Eagles and Cowboys faced off in week 17 with a lot on the line. The game was at 4 pm and all the early games had already played out in the Eagles favor. A win over the Cowboys would mean a playoff spot and a loss would leave them out of the post season. Who could possibly forget the outcome of that one? The Eagles crushed Dallas at home ending their playoff hopes.

This year much of that scenario is the same. Eagles and Cowboys, 4:15, week 17, a lot on the line. The only difference is that this season both teams already have their playoff spots locked up. The importance of game 17 this year is winning the NFC East and possibly getting a first round bye in the playoffs.

Bad News for the Cowboys…

…which is always good news for Eagles fans!

http://i.a.cnn.net/si/2006/writers/peter_king/11/19/mmqb/p1_smith_emmitt.jpgThe Cowboys’ biggest fan doesn’t like the outlook for the upcoming season and I’m loving it. Who is the Cowboys’ biggest fan you ask? It’s Emmitt Smith and he’s been bashing them in the media lately. In a recent interview, he called out the Cowboys- more specifically, Tony Romo, Roy Williams and Wade Phillips.

Emmitt pretty much said he was losing faith in the direction the Cowboys were going in and the leadership of their coach and quarterback. He even went as far as predicting a 7 win season for Dallas. Personally, I’m predicting even less but 7 sounds fine for now.

Here’s a quote he made about the leadership of Tony Romo:

“I never saw him go snatch somebody up and say, ‘Hey, we can’t win like this. We can’t have guys jumping off-sides. I can’t have somebody coming at me unabated. Who is making the mistakes up front? Why… Read the rest of this entry »

NFC East Preseason Preview

http://d.yimg.com/i/ng/sp/eurosport/20090112/25/c127810f8b7d18c0d6ad847a870dcf50.jpgI’ve been hearing a bunch of experts and NFL analysts predicting a Giants/Patriots Super Bowl. Are they serious? The Eagles have clearly done the most this offseason to improve and should be considered the favorites to win the division by Eagles fans and the rest of the world. There are some question marks going into the season surrounding the Eagles like overall team health and defensive ability but I still think (with no major, unexpected injuries), they are the team to beat in the division. Here’s why the other teams don’t stack up:

Cowboys

They have some unanswered problems remaining from last season. They lost TO who was one of their biggest threats. There were reports that Owens hurt them in the locker room but  he still produced huge numbers on the field and they haven’t done enough to replace him. Roy Williams, their big acquisition from last season, did nothing  for them last year and had no chemistry with Romo so he’s not even a lock to perform well. On top of that, they had a pretty bad draft.

They missed the playoffs last season and got demolished by the Birds in week 17. I don’t see them getting much further this year. It’s sad when your biggest offseason improvement is your QB dumping his girlfriend.
