Starting For the Eastern Conference All Stars…. ALLEN IVERSON?

It’s not official yet but as of right now, Allen Iverson is in line to be the starting guard for the Eastern Conference in the All-Star game. Yes- the Iverson who has played only 13 games this year and is averaging about 15 points per outing. The third returns were announced a few days ago and Iverson is leading Vince Carter by 155,000 votes. Voting doesn’t end until January 18th but it seems like his lead may be out of reach.
Even though he isn’t the Iverson of old (only scoring 4 points on 6 shots in his last outing) people still love him all around the world and that’s showing in the polls. He is a fan favorite wherever he goes and to people inside and out of Philly, he’s a living legend.
Him getting the starting guard spot isn’t all that unbelievable either if you think about it. Besides Wade-who is the other starting guard and ahead of AI in the voting- what other Eastern guards deserve it? Vince Carter is closest to Iverson but he’s not having the greatest of years either.
