The Phils Will Score ___ Runs in their Series with Florida
Tonight the Phillies open a 3 game, weekend series with the Marlins in Florida. They have been shut out in 4 of their last 5 games and have only scored 3 runs in that stretch. It’s ugly- but will it get any better this weekend? Here is another fill in the blank question to take a stab at:
The Phillies will score ___ runs in their series with Florida.
Our opinion:10. Read the rest of this entry »
Phils’ Best Offseason Move was ___.
We’re back with another installment of “Fill It In” where we give you a sentence and ask your opinion. The Phillies have made a ton of moves so far this offeason. Amarro and the rest of the management have been busy. These moves range from little ones like signing minor leaguers, to big ones like trading 1 Cy Young winner for another and bringing back Placido Polanco for 3rd base. The offseason isn’t over yet but Think over everything they have done so far and complete this sentence:
The Phillies best 0ffseason move so far was ________.
Our Opinion: Locking up 2 key pieces of the championship team- Shane Victorino and Carlos Ruiz. Any Phillies fan realizes that these were great moves. Read the rest of this entry »
Goodnight Dallas

Associated Press
If the Eagles can’t be playing in the NFC Championship game then no NFC East team should be. Even though many of us are still grieving over the loss to the Cowboys last Saturday, we can all exhale because the Vikings just kicked them back to Dallas with a 27-3 win (34-3: The Vikings just rubbed it in with a last minute touchdown). It was great watching the game and listening to the crushed voice of Troy Aikman while he commentated on the last few drives. Read the rest of this entry »
97.5 The Fanatic vs McNabb
Lately when I’ve been in my car, I’ve been listening to 97.5 the Fanatic. If you aren’t familiar with The Fanatic, it’s Philly’s first FM sports station. They are affiliated with ESPN Radio and bring pretty good insight to the world of Philly Sports. They also touch on the national level with programs such as the always entertaining Mike and Mike in the Morning. Throughout the day they take a bunch of callers, talk about Philly sports and have some pretty interesting radio personalities running the show.
But ever since Saturday’s Eagles game and even in the week leading up to it, it seems all I hear on the station are talks about the different reasons McNabb should be out of here and the different ways the Eagles can make it happen. Read the rest of this entry »
Eagles Biggest Offseason Need Is __.
We did it for the Phillies and now it’s time to ask the same question for the Eagles. This time it’s a bit more difficult because clearly, the Eagles have a lot more needs and holes than the Phillies did after nearly winning the World Series again. They have a TON of problems which makes this an interesting question. You can look at pretty much any position out there (with exceptions to WR, FB, TE, Special Teams) and say they could make improvements or changes. There’s no doubt that some changes will be made but now’s our time to figure out the ones we want to see.
So Fill in this question in the best way you can:
The Eagles’s Biggest Offseason Need Is _______.
Our Opinion: Secondary help. Linebackers were a close second but Read the rest of this entry »

The Best Gift A Philly Team Can Give Me This Holiday Season is ___.
Welcome to another installment of FILL IT IN. This one’s a Holiday edition. Here’s a few guidelines for answering this one. The “gift” from the Philadelphia sports team has to be “given” to you by the beginning of January (because that’s when the Holiday season ends). If you think hard about it, there’s plenty to wish for…Our opinion: A first round bye. There are a lot of different answers for this that we thought over (The Flyers are playing in the Winter Classic, the Sixers have an important road trip, Temple’s basketball team takes on the #1 team in the country, the Phillies could sign another free agent) but the best thing that could happen for us right now is for the Eagles to get an important first round bye in the playoffs.
Sixers Will Win __ Games This Year
The Sixers top management (Stefanski, DiLeo, Jordan and even Aaron McKie) have officially met with Allen Iverson in Dallas to talk about a possible comeback. As of now, nothing is official and this team seems to be in shambles. They lost 8 of their last 9 and have a record of 5-12. The only thing keeping them out of last place in the division are the horrible Knicks and Nets- but the Knicks are catching up to them with 3 wins.
Today’s “Fill it in” question is how many games do you think the Sixers will win this season WITH THE ROSTER THEY HAVE RIGHT NOW? Don’t take into account the thought of them signing Iverson or going after other free agents or trades. This question is in regards to their current roster. If they kept this team in tact all season, what would their final record be?
Our Opinion: 32. With the team they have now, they will finish with a 32-50 record and miss the playoffs. If you think this is too many wins to predict, here’s the reasoning: Read the rest of this entry »
Phillies’ Team Awards
Major League baseball will be announcing their awards shortly. Everything from rookie of the year, coach of the year and league MVPs will be delegated out to America’s best. In my opinion, there should be some Phillies’ winning those awards but we’ll see. To have some fun with it, here’s how we would give out the Phillies’ team awards (some real, some made up):
Rookie Of The Year: J.A. Happ
That was a tough one. The guy was incredible this season and I wish we saw more of him in the playoffs. There wasn’t even any competition in this decision and not only is he the Phillies’ ROY, but he better get the MLB ROY award as well. It’s hard to find someone in baseball who did more for their team- especially for a winning team. His record ended at 12-4 and his ERA was an incredible 2.93. Give the guy the award MLB.
Biggest Disappointment: Brad Lidge
This was a close one between two players. You guessed it… Read the rest of this entry »
The Phillies’ Biggest Offseason Need Is ______.
The Phillies did well this year and were 2 wins away from repeating as champions. We don’t have much to complain about but we all know that Amaro and the rest of the Phillies’ management will be looking at ways to improve this team for next season. Even the slightest changes will make a difference because a few things were missing between the team that won in 2008 and the team that came so close in 2009.
The Phillies have a powerful offense and the core of their starting rotation is as solid as any team’s. To me, a few noticeable areas that need work include the back end of the starting rotation, the closer’s role, and the bench. It was hard to pick one but here’s our answer to this week’s FILL IT IN question.
Our Opinion: A new, right handed starter. According to the Phillies website, much of the starting rotation they have now will be around next year. Most likely Pedro and Brett Myers will end up on different teams which leaves one hole Read the rest of this entry »
