Eagles Preview: Week 9
One of the games Eagles fans circle on the schedule the day it comes out is almost here. The Eagles and the Cowboys play in Philadelphia on Sunday night in a battle for first place in the NFC East. On paper it looks to be a great matchup
Both teams are 5-2 and have been playing well as of late. When you take a look at the statistics, the teams are very close. The Cowboys have a slight lead in offensive numbers (passing, rushing and total yards per game, 3rd down conversion and TOP). The Eagles, however lead in points per game by 29 to 28.1
On the defensive side of the ball, it’s the Eagles with the slight advantage in most categories. They lead in rushing, passing and total yards per game allowed and lead in points allowed by .4.
I predict that the game will be well fought by both teams but the Eagles will win. They have too many weapons and have been so hot lately. Also, it’s a prime-time game and it’s right here in Philly where the crowd will be going CRAZY. Remember what happend last time the Cowboys came to town? One thing to watch out for tomorrow night is Jason Witten. Stopping him will be a key for an Eagles’ defense that has done poorly against tight ends all season. Don’t expect them to shut him out completely because I don’t know if that’s possible. But keeping him in check will be important.
Overall, the Eagles will win tomorrow night. Get ready for a fun game.
