Eagles Get The Prime Time Win
Last time the Eagles had the entire country watching them it was kind of embarrassing. They lost to the Cowboys in a game they should have won. This time we were all hoping it went better and it did.
I’m sure you all watched the Eagles take care of the Bears last night 24-20. It was a solid win but an overall up and down performance by the offense. They started off the first quarter hot but looked like they rolled over to die after the second quarter. There were a few fumbles and an interception but they woke back up and took the lead.
One good sign from Sunday night was the emergence of a running game that included none other than MICHAEL VICK! LeSean McCoy stepped in for the injured Westbrook and had 99 rushing yards and a nice touchdown in the 4th quarter to put the Birds ahead. Also, MICHAEL VICK! had his biggest play from scrimmage and showed some life in a 34 yard run from a direct snap. He didn’t look as quick as he used to be but did use a nice juke to gain some extra yards.
If they can keep up a running game like this moving forward they will be in good shape. Except it isn’t that easy. They are playing with a makeshift offensive line that has players in the wrong positions. Also, Wesbrook is hurt for about 2 more weeks. They proved they have it in them though and that was good to see.
The second good sign was the overall play of the defense. Besides Bell’s 72 yard run, the Eagles defense gave up only 54 yards on the ground and held Cutler to 171 yards. Now it’s true that part of the Bears’ bad offensive performance was because of Cutler missing huge opportunities but you can’t deny the toughness the banged up Eagles defense played with.
