Eagles Preview: Week 7

With Donovan McNabb praying for the Eagles to bounce back after last week's debacle against the Raiders, we like the Philly QB in the Monday Night Football matchup with the Redskins. Finally! - a prime-time football game for the Eagles. Let’s hope that embarrassing team that played the Raiders last week doesn’t show up in front of a national audience.

Not only will Monday night’s game be the Eagles’ first prime-time game of the season, it will be their first divisional game as well. We all know that divisional games are usually competitive. The teams play each other so much that its not rare to see a split series. That might be true this year when the Eagles play the Giants- but when they play the Redskins, there is no excuse for not winning.

The Redskins are terrible (even worse than the Raiders in my opinion). They hired a coach off the streets to call the plays and take some responsibility away from Zorn. So far, no opponent they faced had a win going into their game with the Redskins and they’re still only 2-4. Their losses have come to teams including the Lions, Chiefs and Panthers.

If the Eagles lose this game they’re in really bad shape. They’ll have lost to two of the leagues worst teams and will be approaching the hardest part of their schedule. They have three division games in a row so this one with the Redskins is a must win.

I think the Eagles will crush the Redskins for those reasons and more. Theyre’ on national tv and will be watched by millions who don’t normally get to see them play. They’re coming off an inexcusable loss and I’m sure they will come out playing hard to protect their reputation and make up for it. Andy Reid teams always play well after losses and this game should be no different. Expect an easy win for the Eagles this week. And enjoy it because the games will get tougher and tougher as the season goes on.
