Jeremy Roenick Retires

This is just a short tribute to Jeremy Roenick who played many successful years for the Philadelphia Flyers.  Just the other day he retired after being in the NHL for twenty season, and I must say, he had a very very good career.  With the Flyers from 2001-2005 Jeremy Roenick made an immediate impact his first year with the team earning the MVP and Class act awards.  He had sixty-seven points that year and also got his one thousanth career point.  He was the ultimate man of consistancy as his goals and points totals were all around the same with his years on the Flyers.  He was a relentless player who played for the team.

He was known for speaking his mind and not caring about what people thought.  In the lockout season, he told fans to “kiss his ass” for thinking that hockey players were spoiled.  No matter what people say, Roenick’s controversy that surrounded him does not take away from what he did on the ice.  You don’t last twenty years in the NHL if you are a poor player.  He played well for a long time and he felt that it was his time to check out of the league.  He ended his career with 513 goals, 703 assists, 1216 points, and a total of 1363 games played.  Thank you Jeremy Roenick for giving the Flyers at least a couple of years out of your long successful career.
