All Signs Point to a Big Year from DeSean Jackson
If you were impressed by DeSean Jackson’s play last year, get ready for even more amazement this season. Donovan McNabb, Andy Reid and the rest of the team are all talking up Jackson’s performance during the Eagles training camp at Lehigh. ESPN described him as being “dominant” in camp. Even Jackson himself has talked about how much better he feels this year than last year.
I went to camp a couple times in the past few weeks and I got to say, I agree with them. He looked great. He topped everyone’s expectations last season by almost reaching the 1,000 yard receiving mark and that was his first year in the league. Imagine how much he can do with that experience under his belt.
Let’s face it, the only thing that can get in this guys way is himself. He made a few notoriously stupid plays last year. Who can forget him dropping the ball before the end zone against Dallas or acting cocky and getting in the face of the opposing coaches?
Those are dumb things to do if you’re on the rise in the NFL. He needs to keep his attitiude in check and he should dominate as anticipated this season.
The other thing to watch out for is the extra attention he will getting from defenses. Teams that play the Eagles definitely hear hype and will try to find ways to stop him. It’ll be interesting to see how he handles it and how the Eagles call plays to utilize him.
If he keeps improving on last season, he might end up as the only WR selected by Reid that isn’t a complete bust ( I’m talking about you Pinkston, FredEx and Brown). The video posted from with this story is of Jackson and Maclin’s views on the upcoming season.

If Desean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin can both be as productive as Jackson was last year and we dont have a problem with our line. Eagles will be in the superbowl.
