Louis Williams
I have alwasy been a big fan of Lou Williams. I feel that he fits the Sixers game style. He runs the court and plays defense very well. This upcoming year may be Lou’s time to shine. It all depends on the situation with Andre Miller. Personally if the Sixers want him back, I think that the deal would have been done already. The New York Knicks reportedly are considering making an offer to Andre. So, if Andre Miller departs Lou Williams will be bumped into the starting point guard spot. I think that he is ready. Whenever I watch him play I noticed that he brings excitement to the court. As a starter he will be even more productive.
Straight out of high school, the Sixers drafted Lou in 2005. He has been in the league four years preparing for this opportunity. The past two years is when he saw his most significant playing time. In those two years he has saw about 23 minutes per game. His ppg went up one point from the previous year (12.8) and his assists stayed at a consistant three. With more minutes, you will see better stats. What I like the most about his game play is is athletic ability. He is quick, can jump, and has good footwork. While he is not perfect yet, he definately still has time to become an elite pg in the game. He is only 22 years old and will turn 23 in October. So watch out for Lou Williams this season in the NBA, and don’t be surprised if he has an allstar type of year.
With respect, Matt

this will be interesting to see how lou can perform as a starter, it could be a breakout season.
I definitely agree that this could be a break out season for Louis.
I’ve heard from so many people that have lou start this year is stupid. No one believes he can actually start in the nba and be productive. However i disagree with them. I feel that he is finally getting a chance to show everyone what he is capable of. Lou is not a terrible player, in fact i believe he is the best guy to run this young fast talented team. So Lou williams isn’t andre miller, he isn’t Iverson in his prime, but he is Lou williams who i believe will make a name for himself this year and take full advantage of this opportunity.
Lou is definitely the best guy to run the offense. He loves to run the court and his athletic ability is just amazing. I think he needs to get a little stronger and develop better ball handling skills at game speed. That however will come with experience.
I am sorry I strongly disagree here. Lou williams has been in the league for four years and he hasnt even been a starter yet. now look at a derrick rose, a rajon rondo, chris paul, deron williams and other pgs who came in right away and started. They are elite! They are all-stars! Not some guy who cant start in front fo a 30 some year old andre miller (who isnt an al-star himself). I honestly expect him to do better than he ever has,but he wont be an all-star or turn the sixers around.
